James Oscar Magee, Mary Emily Magee wife of William J. Alford, Leah Dicy Magee wife of Walter J. Ott, Dewitt Nelson Magee, Thomas J. Magee versus Defts. Jane Schilling widow of Pinkney McDaniel, Monroe Schilling, Peter Schilling, James R. Schilling, Mary Schilling widow of Wm. Aken, William Dyson and Leslie Dyson; it is adjudged that there was title from Valzain Schilling to Leslie Dyson as alleged in Plaintiff’s petition passed about 1845 for the land vizt. the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Sec 20 and the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Sec 19 T1S R9E containing 80 acres, and sd title was recorded at about that time, and title was passed from Leslie Dyson to Nehemiah Magee “Plfs. father” about 1849 and that sd title was recorded about that time, that sd titles were destroyed by fire in 1897; sd titles are hereby revived and reinstated without prejudice to the right of Thomas W. Brumfield to bring a separate action; Ordered that Plts pay all costs; Recorded 8 April 1904.

Simmons, Willis– Washington Parish Deed Bk 4, 110-11; Pike Co, MS, 23 Oct 1900, Willis R. Simmons of Pike Co binds himself not to alter a will “made by me” in 1885 in which Wright L. Simmons was bequeathed tract in WPL, viz. 160 acres bounded W by lands belonging to succession of W. A. Simmons, E by C. A. Fortenberry, S by Simon Miller & J. W. Simmons and W by George Brumfield, but the sd Wright L. Simmons being now dead, sd land is to revert to his two sons Ancel N. and J. Wright Simmons, and sd Ancel N. Simmons is authorized to sell his portion as if the will had already gone into effect for the purpose of acquiring an education; wits. J. W. Simmons, C. C. Dixon; Recorded 31 Oct 1900.

Slocum, Pierson– Louisiana State Land Office, Greensburg Claim Papers, Abstract Docs, Vol 49, #Z-33; Washington, Parish, La., Deed 31 March 1846, before Nelson Trawick, Judge, Pierson Y. Slocum of WPL sold to John Magee of WPL (for $1400 cash) a tract of land 640 acres, bounded N by lands of Wildblood, S by lands of Edwin Thomas, E by Bogue Chitto River, being the same on which the vendor now resides, also a negro man Zach aged about 30 years; It is understood by the sd apppearer that the house now used as a church together with one acre of land be reserved for the use of the Methodist Episcopal Church; Mrs. Dicey Erwin wife of said Pierson Y. Slocum, Samuel– St Tammany Par Deed Book A-1, 26; 9 Nov 1809, Andrew Smith of Bogue Chitto to Samuel Slocum, no consideration stated, sold improvement bounded on upper side with Gabriel Chavers, on lower side with George Armstrong; wits. Wm. Waskom, Abner Bickham (Bevin Creel, Saint Tammany Parish Louisiana Deeds 1810-1824, 5).

Snell, William- Pike County MS, 25 Apr 1851, William Snell appeared before Barney Lewis (JP) and made application for bounty land under the act of 28 Sept 1850; he declared that he was the same Snell who served under Capt Samuel Bullin in Lt Col Peter Perkins’ regiment of MS militia in the War of 1812, that he was drafted 20 Sept 1814 at Warrenton, Warren Co, MS for a term of 6 months, that he was discharged at Camp Mandeville near Mobile about 14 March 1815; wits. Sanders), for $300, sold 160 acres on Gorman Creek, bounded N by land sof A.P. Stevens, E by lands of Richard Stevens, S by lands this day sold to T. M. Stevens and W by public lands, and it is hereby understood that the sd vendor is to be had a support of the land during his lifetime; wits. T.M.Stevens, B.T. Stevens.
