Varnado, G.W.- Washington Parish Deed Bk 11, 19; 20 April 1906, Lucy J. Magee (wife of William Magee, formerly widow of G.W. Varnado), Celia Brumfield (wife of L.A. Brumfield), Dixie K. Varnado (wife of Chas. L. Varnado), being the widow and heirs of G.W. Varnado, acknowledge that on 30 Jan 1900 they transferred to Rosa L. Abney the E half of lots 5 & 6 in square 7 in Franklinton, as shown in Conveyance Bk 3, pp 519-20, and whereas the description is incorrect, they declare that the property actually conveyed is the E 1/2 of lot 7 in Franklinton; wits. Vernon, Peter- Washington Parish Deed Bk 10, 107; 23 Sept 1905 at Sunny Hill, Adolphus Vernon and Adaline Williams (wife of Alvin Williams), to “our brother” Leon J. Vernon, they being heirs of Peter and Roda Vernon, for $50 to each of us paid, sold right, title interest to “our dead mother’s estate” consisting of about 30 acres being half of a tract of about 60 acres owned in common by their father and deceased mother, known as the Sherman Hunt place, in T1 R9E; wits. W. L. Vernon, Monroe Brumfield. On page 107, 22 Sept 1905, Rosa Jane Brumfield wife of Marshall Brumfield (another dau of Peter and Roda Vernon) sold her right to the within for $50, wits. W.L.
